Psychiatric care and mental health counseling to best suit your needs.

Iriselis “Selly” Cruzado, PA-C

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT CERTIFIED, CAQ Psychiatry

I am a board-certified psychiatric physician associate with a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry, providing psychiatric care across the lifespan. I believe psychiatry is most effective when patients feel genuinely involved, informed, and valued throughout their care.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I focus on understanding the full picture behind a patient’s symptoms, struggles, and goals. I emphasize patient education, individualized treatment planning, and helping patients better understand not only their symptoms and treatment options, but also the “why” behind what they may be experiencing.

I believe meaningful psychiatric care goes beyond simply prescribing medication. Improvement often involves multiple layers of support, including therapy, lifestyle factors, coping strategies, self-awareness, and access to the right resources over time. My goal is to help patients feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in their treatment rather than feeling disconnected from the decision-making process.

I am passionate about helping patients build healthier foundations early in care, develop stronger long-term paths forward, and create healthier trajectories that may help prevent years of unnecessary struggle. At the same time, I am especially passionate about helping those who may have felt stuck in difficult patterns or ineffective treatment cycles for years. Whether that involves gaining a better understanding of themselves, re-evaluating previous diagnoses, reassessing treatment approaches, or identifying overlooked contributing factors, I believe effective psychiatry sometimes requires stepping back, looking at the bigger picture, and asking deeper questions when something no longer fully makes sense.

In addition to my background in psychiatry, I proudly served for over 10 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, including service as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist, military intelligence experience as a commissioned officer, and Honor Guard service. My military background helped shape the resilient, adaptable, grounded, and disciplined mindset I carry into both my personal life and the way I care for others today.

Patients often describe me as approachable, attentive, thorough, and easy to talk to. I value creating an environment where patients feel heard without judgment and supported throughout their healing process.

Outside of psychiatry, I have a deep appreciation for music, enjoy spending time with my family, and am known for having a pet pig that has become a memorable part of my life outside the office.
